Police have detained a total of 10 persons in connection with the alleged gang rape of an elderly nun and loot at a convent school in West Bengal's Nadia district.
A top Catholic functionary arrived West Bengal's Ranaghat to express solidarity with the sister superior of a convent school, who was allegedly gang-raped on Saturday.
Although earlier reports indicated that five people had been detained in connection with the case, Nadia SPsaid no arrests or detention have so far been made in the case.
The people of West Bengal have lost faith in the state police and therefore their demand for deployment of central forces, Nayak said.
